HOW TO APPLY FOR A VISA FOR LUXEMBOURG
Visa applicantsfor all types of visas should apply for a visa at VFS Global offices in İstanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Gaziantep and Antalya.

The Embassy is closed on public holidays in Türkiye.
Applicants who will apply for a visa at VFS Global offices in İstanbul, in Ankara, İzmir, Gaziantep and Antalya will have to call VFS Global for visa application procedure. Fingerprints will be taken at VFS Global offices.
Important Notice - Processing of a visa application :
Visa applications must be lodged AT LEAST 15 CALENDER DAYS BEFORE THE INTENDED VISIT and cannot be lodged earlier than six months before the start of the intended visit. In individual cases, the processing time of a visa application may be extended up to 45 days, if a more detailed examination of your application and/or additional documents are required.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SHORT TERM SCHENGEN VISA
The following documents must be provided and submitted by all applicants, regardless of their purpose of travel, for visa applications valid in Schengen countries, provided that the main destination is Luxembourg.
- Application form in Turkish, English, or French, duly completed, dated, and signed by the applicant.
- Passport issued within the last 10 years, valid for at least three months after the date of return from the Member State of the intended trip or, in the case of multiple trips, for at least three months after the date of return from the Member State for the last trip, with at least 2 blank pages.
- One recent, passport type, colour photography with white background (1)
- Proof of health insurance (in accordance with visa law) (2)

(2) The travel insurance must cover the entire duration of the stay, must be valid in the Schengen countries, and must cover all medical emergencies, hospitalization, repatriation for medical reasons, repatriation in the event of death and all related costs. The minimum amount of coverage must be €30,000.

Long-term visa procedure for applicants applying for a long-term visa (Visa D) under the new procedure from 1 October 2026 onwards
General Information
As of 1 October 2026, the procedure for obtaining a first residence permit for third-country nationals wishing to settle in Luxembourg will be simplified and aligned with European practice. This reform, approved by the Government Council in July 2025, replaces the previous procedure, which required a prior application for a temporary residence authorisation with the Directorate General for Immigration by an application for a long-stay visa (Visa D), to be submitted through Luxembourg or Belgian diplomatic or consular representations abroad.
Third-country nationals wishing to settle in Luxembourg must submit a long-stay visa (Visa D) application in accordance with the applicable procedure with the competent Luxembourg embassy or consulate, or, where applicable, through its external service provider (VFS Global). The applications have to be lodged with the Luxembourg Visa Application Centre (https://visa.vfsglobal.com/tur/en/lux)

VISA FEE AND EXEMPTION
All visa types (transit and short-term visit): 90 Euro, paid in cash.
Children between the ages of 6-12: 33.75 Euro, paid in cash.
D visa (long stay): 50 Euro, paid in cash
Children between the ages of 6-12: 40 Euro, paid in cash
A visa can be issued free of charge in the following cases:
- Children under the age of 6.
- Students, including undergraduate and postgraduate students traveling for education or participation in an education program, and instructors accompanying them for this purpose.
- Members of non-profit organizations under the age of 25, participating in sports, cultural or educational events, seminars or conferences organized by the mentioned organizations.
- Researchers traveling for scientific research purposes.
- Family members of EU/EEC/Swiss citizens:
Family members are:
- Spouses/partners/common law spouses.
- Direct descendants (children) who are under the age of 21 or are dependants, including the children of the spouse or partner.
- Dependent direct relatives in the ascending line (e.g. parents), including the parents of the spouse or partner.
The visa fee is non-refundable if the visa application is rejected or withdrawn.
VISA FACILITATING AGREEMENTS:
Until now, the European Union has concluded visa facilitation agreements with the non-EU countries that are listed in the link below. In the light of these agreements, EU and non-EU citizens benefit from this simplified procedure for obtaining visas.

APPEAL PROCESS
The rejection decision can be appealed to the administrative court in accordance with the following law: Loi du 21 juin 1999 portant reglement de procédure devant les juridictions administratives (Mémorial A n:98 du 26 juillet 1999) . A lawyer must make an appeal within three months of being notified of the rejection decision.
