The Minister of the Economy Lex Delles attended the 77th International Astronautical Congress in Antalya, Türkiye

On 4 and 5 October 2026, the Minister of the Economy Lex Delles attended the 77th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) which was held in Antalya this year. The IAC 2026 programme placed particular emphasis on space exploration, security, technological innovation, international cooperation and the ethical issues associated with human activities beyond Earth.

 

As part of his participation in the official programme, Minister Lex Delles took part in the 16th Meeting for Ministers and Members of Parliament. Discussions centered on the role of satellite technologies and services in crisis management, the fight against climate change and addressing geopolitical challenges.

During a meeting with Mehmet Fatih Kacır, the Turkish Minister for Industry and Technology, Lex Delles discussed, in particular, the prospects for developing cooperation between Luxembourg and Türkiye in the space and satellite sector.

On the official opening day of the IAC, 5 October, Lex Delles took part in the official ceremonies, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. He also attended a plenary session, which brought together leading representatives of the international space community as well as high-ranking representatives from NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA).

Lex Delles then visited the Luxembourg pavilion, organized by the Luxembourg Space Agency. Ten Luxembourg-based organizations were represented there: Adwaiseo, Amphinicy, Bradford, ClearSpace, ESRIC, Exobiosphere, Lunar Outpost, Odysseus, SNT and Tumi Robotics. This collective presence served to highlight the diversity and dynamism of Luxembourg’s space ecosystem. The pavilion also serves as a meeting point for international partners wishing to establish a presence in Luxembourg, to foster international cooperation, and to discuss the country’s space strategy.
