Luxembourg’s Minister of Finance, Mr. Gilles Roth, visits Türkiye

In Ankara, he had a good meeting and a lunch with Mr. Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Türkiye. The Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Fatih Karahan, also took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, the Ministers exchanged views on European and international issues as well as on the development of bilateral relations between Luxembourg and Türkiye, especially in the area of financial services.

In Istanbul, Minister Roth met representatives of the Turkish economic and financial sectors, including members of the Türkiye-Luxembourg Council at the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK).  At the Headquarters of Turkish Airlines, he also met with the Chairman, Mr. Ahmet Bolat, and the CEO, Mr. Bilal Ekşi. During all his meetings, the Minister reiterated the government's priorities in terms of competitiveness and development of Luxembourg’s financial centre.
