In the framework of the 4th EU Human Rights Film Days, the Embassy of Luxembourg kindly invites you to the screening of “Hannah Arendt” by Margarethe von Trotta on Friday, 12 December 2014 at 21.00 at Büyülü Fener, Ankara.

Synopsis:

German-Jewish political scientist Hannah Arendt, played by the stunning actress Barbara Sukowa, attends the trial of the Nazi officer Adolf Eichmann in Israel due to an assignment of the New Yorker magazine and then prepares a serial of pieces. In her writings in which Hannah Arendt has coined the concept of “banality of evil” discusses that ordinary people who don’t make a distinction between the good and the bad lead to evil. However this view arouses indignation among masses expecting Eichmann be described as a monster. Arendt has attracted the whole world’s hatred to herself and runs the risk of losing her closest friends.
