On 27 November 2019, the Ambassador of Luxembourg Mr. Georges Faber, and Mrs. Barbara Faber-Mohr welcomed the Duo Arzu and Gamze Kırtıl on stage at the “Luxembourg House” in Ankara.

The outstanding four-hand performance of the twin sisters enchanted the audience of around 150 guests. Apart from pieces by renowned composers, Arzu and Gamze performed the World premiere of “The Little House”, especially commissioned by the two musicians for the Arts at the Luxembourg House series.

Luxembourg composer Catherine Kontz, with the support of SACEM Luxembourg, has written the piece.

The Kırtıl sisters have formed one of the most impressive piano duets of their generation. Born in Istanbul, Arzu and Gamze are graduates of the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris and the Hacettepe University State Conservatory in Ankara. They won numerous musical awards throughout their career and performed with many renowned orchestras as soloists.

From the beginning of their international career in 2000, they capture audiences with their dynamic and innovative interpretations throughout the classical piano repertoire.

Arzu resides in Luxembourg and teaches music at the Ecole de Musique de l’Union Grand-Duc Adolphe, while Gamze resides in Ankara and teaches piano at the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts at Bilkent University.
